J Plasma, now sold under the brand name Renuvion, is a minimally invasive skin tightening treatment that uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy under the skin. At Soraca Med in Antalya it starts from €3,250, is often combined with liposuction, and patients usually stay 4 to 6 days. It suits mild to moderate skin laxity; it does not replace a tummy tuck, arm lift or facelift when there is a lot of excess skin. Every treatment plan at Soraca Med is reviewed by our plastic surgeon, Dr. Gökhan Bacak.

What Is J Plasma (Renuvion)?
J Plasma was the original name of a technology developed by Apyx Medical; the aesthetic version is now marketed as Renuvion. A thin handpiece is inserted through small incisions, and helium gas energised by radiofrequency creates a cool plasma beam that heats the tissue beneath the skin in short pulses. The heat contracts the fibrous network under the skin and stimulates new collagen, which leads to gradual tightening.
Because the energy is delivered under the skin through tiny entry points, there are no long excision scars. That is the main reason patients choose it over a surgical lift when their skin laxity is not severe.
What Does the FDA Say?
In 2022 the US Food and Drug Administration warned against using the device for skin contraction outside its cleared indications. Later that year it cleared the Renuvion APR handpiece for subcutaneous procedures to improve the appearance of lax skin in the neck and submental (under-chin) region, and further clearances for soft-tissue coagulation and contraction followed in 2023 (source). In practice this means the treatment should be performed by a surgeon who understands the device and its limits, in a hospital or fully equipped operating room.
Who Is a Good Candidate?

J Plasma works best for:
- Mild to moderate loose skin after weight loss or pregnancy
- Neck and jawline laxity that is not yet severe enough for a neck lift
- Patients having liposuction who want to reduce the risk of loose skin afterwards
- Crepey skin on the inner arms, inner thighs or above the knees
It is usually not the right choice if you have large hanging skin folds, a significant abdominal muscle separation or are still losing weight. In those cases a tummy tuck, arm lift or thigh lift gives a more reliable result.
J Plasma vs Other Skin Tightening Options
| Option | How it works | Best for | Scars | Downtime |
| J Plasma (Renuvion) | Helium plasma and radiofrequency under the skin | Mild to moderate laxity, often with liposuction | Small entry points | About 1 to 2 weeks |
| Non-invasive RF or HIFU | Energy delivered through the skin surface | Very mild laxity, prevention | None | Little or none, several sessions |
| Surgical lift (tummy tuck, arm lift, neck lift) | Excess skin is removed and tissues are repaired | Moderate to severe laxity and hanging skin | Longer surgical scars | About 2 to 4 weeks |
The right choice depends on how much loose skin you have, not on which technology is newest. Non-invasive devices cannot tighten skin as much as treatment under the skin, and no energy device can remove a true overhang of skin. A good surgeon will tell you honestly when J Plasma is not enough.
J Plasma Cost in Antalya

At Soraca Med, J Plasma starts from €3,250. The final price depends on:
- How many areas are treated in the same session
- Whether liposuction is performed at the same time
- The type of anesthesia and hospital time needed
- Your package choices, such as hotel nights and transfers
Packages normally include the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, hospital costs, compression garment, medication, hotel stay, transfers and follow-up visits. You can see the detailed breakdown on our J Plasma cost page and compare it with other treatments on the aesthetic surgery price list.
How the Procedure Works
- Consultation and marking: the surgeon examines skin quality, pinches the skin to judge laxity and marks the areas.
- Anesthesia: depending on the area and whether liposuction is added, local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia is used.
- Fat removal if planned: liposuction is performed first when excess fat is present.
- Plasma treatment: the handpiece is passed under the skin in a controlled pattern while temperature and energy are monitored.
- Closure and garment: the small incisions are closed and a compression garment is applied.
The treatment itself usually takes one to two hours, longer when several areas are combined.
Recovery and Results Timeline
| Time after treatment | What to expect |
| Day 1 to 3 | Swelling, tightness and mild to moderate soreness; fluid may drain from the incisions |
| Week 1 | Most patients walk comfortably and return to light activity; garment worn day and night |
| Weeks 2 to 4 | Swelling reduces; desk work is usually possible; avoid strenuous exercise |
| Weeks 4 to 6 | Exercise is gradually reintroduced if your surgeon agrees |
| Months 3 to 6 | Tightening becomes visible as collagen remodels; improvement can continue up to about a year |
Wearing the compression garment as instructed, walking every day and attending follow-up visits are the most important things you can do for a smooth recovery.
Risks and Side Effects
All energy-based treatments under the skin carry risks. Possible complications include burns, seroma (fluid collection), prolonged swelling, firmness or small lumps under the skin, pigment changes and, rarely, nerve injury. The risk is lowest when the treatment is planned conservatively and performed by an experienced surgeon in a hospital setting. Tell your surgeon if you smoke, take blood thinners or have had previous treatments in the same area.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does J Plasma cost in Antalya?
At Soraca Med, J Plasma starts from €3,250. The final price depends on the number of areas, whether liposuction is added and your package choices.
Is J Plasma the same as Renuvion?
Yes. J Plasma is the original name of the technology; the aesthetic skin tightening version is now marketed as Renuvion.
How long do J Plasma results last?
Collagen built up after treatment can last for years, but natural ageing, weight changes and sun exposure continue to affect the skin. A stable weight and good skin care help results last longer.
Is J Plasma painful?
The treatment is performed under anesthesia, so you do not feel it during the procedure. Afterwards most patients describe soreness and tightness that is controlled with prescribed painkillers.
Can J Plasma replace a tummy tuck or facelift?
No. J Plasma is suitable for mild to moderate laxity. Large amounts of excess skin or separated abdominal muscles need surgical removal and repair.
How long should I stay in Antalya?
Most patients stay 4 to 6 days so that the first follow-up and garment check can be done before flying home.
