Is It Safe to Get a Hair Transplant in Turkey?

It can be very safe when a qualified medical team performs it in a licensed clinic. The risk comes from very cheap offers where technicians, not doctors, perform most of the procedure. The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) runs a campaign against such unlicensed clinics, and its members regularly repair results from them.

Who Is Not a Good Candidate?

According to the NHS, hair transplants suit permanent, inherited baldness and are not usually suitable for other types of hair loss, such as alopecia areata. A transplant may also not be the right step yet if:

Your hair loss is very recent and changing quickly
Your donor area at the back of the head is thin
You expect the density of a full head of hair over a large bald area
You have a scalp condition or a medical problem that has not been checked

These medicines have possible side effects and are not right for everyone, so they should only be used after a medical consultation. I felt super confident before and after the procedure. The operation took over 5 hours, and I stayed 4 nights in the Hospital. Then some days in the hotel (all-stay included in the quote).
The team in charge of managing the patients (Tarik and Co.) before arrival, during stay and for weeks after the surgery is great, attentive and has great English and already know a lot about the recovery process.
